چکیده

Methods to obtain accurate estimations of the savings generated by building energy efficiency interventions are a topic great importance, and considered be one keys increase capital investments in conservation strategies worldwide. In this study, novel data-driven methodology is proposed for measurement verification savings, with special focus on commercial buildings facilities. The presented approach involves use characterization means clustering technique that allows extract typical consumption profile patterns. These then used, combination an innovative evaluate building’s weather dependency, design model able provide dynamic achieved savings. method was tested synthetic datasets using simulation software EnergyPlus, as well monitoring data from real-world buildings. results obtained were compared ones provided applying time-of-week-and-temperature (TOWT) model, showing up 10% CV(RMSE) improvement, depending case analysis. Furthermore, comparison deterministic EnergyPlus showed median estimated error always lower than 3% total reporting period consumption, similar accuracy retained even when reducing training available.

Data Driven Energy Efficiency in Buildings

Buildings across the world contribute significantly to the overall energy consumption and are thus stakeholders in grid operations. Towards the development of a smart grid, utilities and governments across the world are encouraging smart meter deployments. High resolution (often at every 15 minutes) data from these smart meters can be used to understand and optimize energy consumptions in build...

Benchmarking the energy efficiency of commercial buildings

Benchmarking energy-efficiency is an important tool to promote the efficient use of energy in commercial buildings. Benchmarking models are mostly constructed in a simple benchmark table (percentile table) of energy use, which is normalized with floor area and temperature. This paper describes a benchmarking process for energy efficiency by means of multiple regression analysis, where the relat...

Experiences with Sensors for Energy Efficiency in Commercial Buildings

Buildings are amongst the largest consumers of electrical energy in developed countries. Building efficiency can be improved by adapting building systems to a change in the environment or user context. Appropriate action, however, can only be taken if the building control system has access to reliable real-time data. Sensors providing this data need to be ubiquitous, accurate, have low maintena...
